Myhairdressers make history with training in iraq MyHairdressers Make History with Training in Iraq MyHairdressers have made history by being the first UK hairdressing educators to train in Iraq since the end of the war in 2008. Global ambassador Steve Turner hosted three days of education at Rabih Salon in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan, covering hairdressing foundation techniques including bobgs, graduation and square and round shapes. As Steve's visit was such a talking point for the salon, he was also requested to cut and style some of the salon's existing clients, including government ministers, politicians and media celebrities. Steve said:
This was truly an amazing experience. We are all familiar with Iraq but always within a context of violence and I saw a completely different side to the country than what is portrayed on the news. Rabih and his team very committed to their craft and are hungry to learn; they want to lead the way for hairdressing in this region. The salon clients were also very friendly and fashion-conscious - everyone was very welcoming and at no point did I feel that I did not belong. I do believe that there will be more collaboration with Rabih and MyHairDressers.com."
