My image of the week

I'm lucky enough to see a huge amount of fashion collections from around the world every week. Of course I am a huge fan of British hairdressing, but I also love what they are doing at the other side of the world as well. It's interesting to see how fashions differ - British and Australian are very similar, whereas America is very commercial, and hairdressers in Estonia and Eastern Europe love creating avant garde images.

Every week I will be choosing one image of the week - something that for me is beautiful, feminine, sexy, creative, directional, avant garde, unusual - and just wants to make you look. It might not be award-winning or something for everyone, but there is something about it that wants to make you look again. This week I have chosen this image from Simon Cawthorne at Cawthorne & Wright in Oakham, Leicestershire. I love its mystery and unconventional beauty. It's obviously not something for the high street but her eyes are dark and mysterious and I love the texture and shape in the hair.
