Tracey Ann Smith, Creative Director of Coloraqua, and Emil McMahon, Technical Director at Coloraqua, were thrilled to welcome the newly announced Coloraqua Ambassadors to West Mill Collective for a day of education with the brand.
The day began with an introduction to the concept behind the brand, how it was developed by Nouvelle, and what makes it stand out from the crowd. Attendees explored the unique technical aspects of the range, alongside the opportunities it offers salons looking to introduce a new or additional colour line to their portfolio. From its water-based properties and energy-saving benefits to its ability to deliver a more luxurious colour service with care for the hair, scalp, and planet, every opportunity was discussed.
The session also highlighted how salons can save on both product and energy with a compact range that is fully intermixable and multifunctional.
The day then moved on to technical education, led by Emil, who discussed shades and product usage. This was followed by a hands-on session, where ambassadors tested the range, worked with swatches, created tones, and became familiar with mixing ratios. This allowed them to see the products in action and experience how they perform both in the bowl and on the hair.
Tracey also demonstrated a colour look on the day – a soft, natural high-lift balayage designed to create a lived-in finish, using Coloraqua 0.0 with 12%, painted using the Paper Not Foil technique. She completed the look by styling into soft waves to enhance movement and add further shine.
Commenting on the event, Tracey said: “What an incredible day! The West Mill Collective space was a fantastic setting to bring everyone together for inspiration and education on all things Coloraqua. The ambassadors were truly wowed by the brand – from the versatility of the formulas to the ability to create multiple colour services from one line, and the unique concept behind Coloraqua as a whole.
“I can’t wait to see them using the range more in their salons and to hear the fantastic feedback from their clients.”
What Does it Mean to be a Coloraqua Ambassador?
Coloraqua Ambassadors were selected following a campaign on the brand’s social media channels, inviting colourists interested in trying a new colour brand, joining the colour movement, and being part of the next big thing in colour, to apply via an online form.
Finalists were then invited to a Zoom call with Tracey where they completed a questionnaire in advance and took part in one-to-one discussions about their interest in
the opportunity. Tracey and the MOOD team ultimately selected eight salons and stylists to become official Coloraqua Ambassadors.
Benefits of becoming a Coloraqua Ambassador include starter stock, stock discounts, and ongoing training with the brand. In return, ambassadors will help raise the profile of Coloraqua by using the range in-salon and creating dedicated social media content.
