Hairdressing's latest education programme has launched - and the
Matrix House of Talent Team are set to storm Salon International.
House of Talent - which will be known as H.O.T. - was launched by Matrix to educate, inspire and provide opportunities for young hairdressers over a 12-month period.
First on their list is Salon International, where they will appear on the Fellowship for British Hairdressing stage.
Hopefuls had to submit a 30-second video outlining why they should be on the team, before nine were selected for live auditions. Their challenges included creating a look from scratch in two hours and presenting their inspiration and model to the panel, before showcasing their creative skills in a speed photo shoot - with only ten minutes to shoot and select their finished look.
Judging on the day was award-winning
Matrix Guest Artist and former Destination.Fame title member, Ashleigh Hodges, who will be leading the team throughout their year.
"I was looking for all-rounders," says Ashleigh. "I wanted people who could produce well thought-out and fresh hair and wanted to see true passion, dedication and team spirit. People that would work well together yet balance each other out."
"I want to spend proper time with these amazing up and coming hairdressers," she adds, "and help develop their careers. The year will kick off with a bang on the Fellowship for British Hairdressing's stage at Salon International at 1:30 on the Monday, so make sure you’re there!"
The four stylists making up the Matrix House of Talent Team for 2014 are...
Tilly Pen, Errol Douglas Salon
Niall McNulty, Dudleys Hair and Beauty
Rosanna Sarah Binns, Ethos Hairdressing
Jonathan Turner, Hooker&Young
