Matrix revolution tour inspires glasgow

The Matrix Revolution 13-date tour has seen some of the industry's most inspiring stylists presenting the latest techniques for audiences to take back to the salon.

Paul Falltrick and Ross Taylor from Paul Falltricks Hairdressing inspired the Glasgow audience with ideas from the runways.

The pair worked on eight models showcasing cutting techniques complemented by Matrix colour. Duel texture and expensive colour were the buzzwords - a mixture of cutting techniques from legendary styling Leonard, infused with strong lines from Vidal Sassoon.

The award-winning hairdressers, based in Essex, also gave business tips as well as creative inspiration.

Tip 1: Mousse is not an old fashioned product

Tip 2: Use terms that don't scare the client - swap the word undercut for collapsed layer which sounds much softer and not so threatening

Tip 3: If you can do everything - from cutting to hair up - clients will keep making appointments with you and won't have to find another stylist

Tip 4: The male market is lucrative. Men are happy to visit the salon every four weeks, so make sure you are catering for this business.
