Manic Panic showed their true colours as they celebrated their 40th birthday with the launch of a new shade, Amethyst Ashes. The slate-grey colour was just one of the launches available on their stand at Salon International, where the brands's legendary co-founders, Snooky and Tish, were also on hand to talk all things colourful.
The limited edition new shade also features commemorative packaging, designed by iconic artist, John Holmstrom. The founding editor of PUNK Magazine, John is also known for his work on album artwork for the Ramones.
To celebrate Manic Panic's birthday – and Snooky and Tish's own unique punk style – John created packaging with an illustration of the Manic Panic boutique on St Mark’s Place and caricatures of the founders. The colour itself was named by social media fans of the brand, in a contest which attracted thousands of entries.
Also on offer at Salon International was Manic Panic's new dry shampoo, Hair Freshener. The product was designed to work particularly well on coloured hair – something the brand know a thing or two about. A translucent powder, it disappears into the hair immediately leaving it feeling clean and smelling fresh. As with all Manic Panic products, it's vegan and cruelty-free.
