Mane Hook-Up, the innovative beauty booking platform connecting women with trusted textured hairstylists, has announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign with three key objectives: helping 1,000 stylists in the UK and US, quadruple their income and providing quality hair care to vulnerable children.

The campaign, called 'Heads Up', which runs from 4th November to 4th December, aims to raise £100,100 to accelerate the start-up's growth over the next 8-9 months. The funds will primarily be used to support Mane Hook-Up's mission of empowering stylists and expanding its reach in the textured hair market, while also giving back to the community.

"Our goal is to revolutionise the textured hair industry by providing stylists with the tools and visibility they need to significantly increase their income," said Jade Buffong, founder of Mane Hook-Up. "By expanding into the US market, starting with New York, we're opening up even more opportunities for stylists to grow their businesses and for clients to find professionals they can trust. Additionally, we believe in the importance of giving back, which is why a portion of our campaign will support vulnerable children with hair care, products and education."

The Heads Up campaign supports Mane Hook-Up's broader mission to transform the textured hair industry by:

  1. Onboarding and supporting 1,000 stylists across the UK and US to help them quadruple their income

  2. Expanding operations into the US market, with an initial focus on New York

  3. Providing professional hair styling, hair care packages, and education to vulnerable children

To support the initiative for vulnerable children, Mane Hook-Up has partnered with organisations such as Bounce Black, The Halo Collective, Vibes of a Black Girl, Odyseey Box, CURLiD Trichologists, and Untype Hair Salon. The company is also asking the wider community to nominate vulnerable children to be recipients of their campaign gifts.

"Every child deserves to feel confident and cared for," Buffong added. "Through this campaign, we're able to both grow our business and give back to our community. Education is key because that will help these children feel more confident in their hair in the long run."
