Makeover lacks magic

Makeover shows are designed to amaze and draw gasps of admiration as the 'model' is transformed from ugly duckling into a beautiful swan. More often than not it is the hair which really makes a difference - the cut makes them look younger and the colour brightens up their skin tone. However last night I watched the worst makeover show I have ever seen on TV. BBC3's Hotter Than My Daughter gave a mother or daughter a transformation so they looked more their age. However, badly fitting wigs and colour that drained colour from their cheeks - as well as clothes that swamped their figures - made them a laughing stock. A makeover is supposed to make the 'model' look better not worse!
