A Mahogany cutting course was the latest challenge for the Project X Team, with a day of precision work courtesy of UK creative directors Antony Licata, Colin Greaney and their up-and-coming stylist, Harry Connors.
Hosted at the L'Oreal Academy in London, the day focused on the Mahogany team's trademark precision techniques, shapes and textures. Following a look-and-learn session in the morning, the afternoon saw the Project X students get to work on their own models using what they had had learned in the morning, while being mentored throughout.
"It was great to see the team focused and determined to pick up and practice such intricate techniques," says Project X mentor Debbie G. "I could see them improving and growing in cutting confidence as the day went on. A big thanks to Mahogany who were just brilliant. All the team agreed the day was a 10 out of 10 experience."
Project X student Jesse Jackson of the Russell Eaton Salon agreed, commenting: "Such an exciting and intense day at Project X. In the morning the Mahogany team wowed us with their latest techniques on undercuts and striking hairlines, whilst motivating us on the importance of education and self-improvement. In the afternoon we were able to put the theory into practice by recreating the looks and putting our own personal stamp on them. Another intense day of inspiration and motivation - I really don’t want this year to end."
