Loyalty schemes result in thousands of unclaimed haircuts https://d3sc42dkmius1e.cloudfront.net/2013/10/hairdressing-apprenticeships2.jpgNew research from the makers of the CloudZync app reveals that consumers earn four million free hair cuts through loyalty schemes every year - but 142,536 are never claimed. The study, which polled 2,000 clients, found that 13% of Brits held one or more salon loyalty cards but despite the points and services they'd earned, many went unclaimed. Main reasons for not claiming freebies and discounts included loyalty schemes taking too long to be worthwhile, forgetting to bring cards to appointments, or forgetting to add points when paying. Andrew Smith, co-founder and CTO of CloudZync, said: "It’s not just consumers that are losing out on unclaimed loyalty cards points, hairdressers are also missing the opportunity to build stronger and more loyal relationships with their customers." CloudZync offers a mobile payment system, which aims to make loyalty schemes easier. "The smartphone in most consumer pockets now offers a much easier way to track loyalty," adds Andrew. "It also offers merchants a unique opportunity to engage and increase the loyalty of their customers. We founded CloudZync to help independent retailers deliver on the promise of mobile and build stronger relationships with their customers.”
