Despite her wild fashion sense, Cara Delevingne's hair has always been fairly safe - until she revealed an undercut this week.
Joining
Rosie Huntington Whiteley,
Katy Perry and
Taylor Swift by kicking off the year with a new cut, Cara was papped out and about with this subtle style upgrade earlier this week.
While it's not the most drastic change in the world. this cut is a versatile option for Cara. Only visible when her hair is worn up in a ponytail or top knot, it means that her impending catwalk duties during fashion week won't be hampered in any way.
We spoke to Anne Veck to find out how to get the look.
"I love Cara's undercut. She's well known for her young exuberance, so its no surprise she has gone for such a punky do. In fact, I’m just surprised it’s that mild! As a model and her hair and eyebrows are a trademark; the undercut suits her wild personality, but she can still walk for more classical designers. It’s like having a naughty secret under your hair!
"The benefits of having an undercut are plenty. For ladies with mega thick hair, it can really shorten your styling time and if you have a bob, it helps the hair to sit flat at the back. And then there's the fact that it looks incredible cool when your hair is tied up in a messy topknot!
"Cara’s undercut comes right up to the ear, which for can be a terrifying prospect for some clients. You can still have an undercut at the back without the severity by taking the section only on the neckline, and shaping into an upside down V.
"The disadvantages of this cut are regular trips to the hairdresser to have it trimmed. Many will do this for free as part of the service and view it as similar to a fringe trim. Growing it out will involve patience; get used to wearing your hair down if you do decide to grow it out!"
