Los angeles plays host to goldwell colorzoom

Russia, Taiwan and the USA were celebrating this weekend after being named as winners at Goldwell's ColorZoom in Los Angeles.

Held at the Nokia Theatre - home to star-studded events such as The Emmys -  more than 3,000 hairdressers saw Derrick Zeno from USA win the Partner Category, Kuku Soh from Taiwan win the New Talent Category and Rustam Mirasov from Russia take home the Creative Category title. They beat 70 competitors that interpreted the 2013 trend Beautify at the LA Convention Centre in Downtown LA. An international panel of judges included Shane Bennett from Ireland and HJ’s editor Ruth Hunsley. The weekend  of inspiration came to an exciting climax as the trend for 2014 was revealed by the Goldwell Color Zoom Creative Team, which included Lisa Whiteman from London’s Webster Whiteman salon.

Reallusion is a collection of looks with hidden depths, lines and hues. Not everything is as it seems, as styles can be worn in a variety of ways and colours appear with the shake of the head.

Two new shades accompany the collection, and will be used by the 2013 international winners as they create the Reallusion photographic collection for 2014.

As the international audience said goodbye to the Beautify 2013 trend, Reallusion wowed with illusions that demanded a second look - models and mannequins mixed together, an umbrella that turned into a hairstyle and hidden depths, angles and colours that revealed themselves unexpectedly.
