The partnership dates back to 2001, when L'Oreal Professionnel and the world-famous Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design joined forces in a partnership dedicated to nurturing cutting-edge talent in both hair and fashion. The relationship is now in its fourteenth year, and the 2014 graduate show once again saw a team of talented young hairdressers working backstage to create looks suitable for the student collections. Three looks were created for the show by the L'Oreal Professionnel Portfolio Session Team - itself dedicated to promoting the work of talented new names. Aviatrix Amelia Earhart inspired look two, a side-parted braided chignon with a loose wave. The final look was a triangular faux bob with waves, which took its cue from Valezquez portraits. Kenneth Campbell, managing director of L'Oreal Professional Products Division, says: "Hairstyles and hair colour say as much about you as the clothes you wear, therefore it is not only tremendously exciting, but absolutely vital, for L'Oreal Professionnel to forge a relationship with one of the most important fashion schools in the world. This ongoing partnership merges the very latest in fashion talent with the creativity of young hairdresessers - it is a unique and inspired collaboration." This view is echoed by Willie Walters, course director of BA Fashion at Central Saint Martins, who comments: "The free flow of ideas and creative energy is central to both industries. This collaboration is groundbreaking."
