L’Oréal Professionnel Partners with Calm to Offer 3 Months Free Access to the App

According to a study, 65%* hairstylists report having experienced anxiety, burnout or depression during their professional career.

Hairstylists provide a service that goes beyond a physical transformation, they also bring great comfort to their clients. According to a study from UK non-profit Samaritans, stylists spend around 2,000 hours per year listening to their clients, offering advice and support alongside colour and styling services.

To support and raise awareness of the mental health challenges faced by hairstylists, L’Oréal Professionnel Paris launched Head Up in 2023.

The free training program was co-developed with hairstylists and the non-profit organization “NAMI” (The National Alliance on Mental Illness) to provide stylists with accessible resources to help face mental health challenges as they arise.

Since 2023, more than 92,000 hairstylists from 25 countries have completed the first training module of the program.

L’OréalProfessionnel Head Up Partnership with Calm

This year, the program is partnering with Calm, the#1 global meditation, sleep and relaxation app powered by clinical experts.

With over 120 million downloads, this app offers a comprehensive approach to wellbeing with accessible practices available 24/7 in 190 countries and offered in 7 languages.

Hairstylists will receive three months of free access (vs. a typical week trial) and 50% off Calm’s annual subscription price.

Through this partnership, hairstylists will be able to put into practice their learnings from the Head Up training program; applying tools such as meditation, breathing and movement exercises.

Alongside this there is access to ample masterclasses and relaxing stories to enhance sleep quality.
