L’oréal colour trophy 2022: semi final and key competition dates

The L’Oréal Colour Trophy competition is back for 2022, inviting all hairdressers to show off their colour prowess against other hair professionals across the UK and Ireland.
Now in its 66
th year, the competition has evolved for 2022 with the inclusion of a new Semi-Final format and Grand Finals, as well as a new Colour Specialist category.
After thousands of competitors battled it out across the UK and Ireland, L’Oréal Professional Paris has announced the
L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2022 Semi-Finalists - the full list can be found here.
This year sees nine Semi-Final events take place across the UK and Ireland, kicking off in Glasgow on 27 March. Look out for the Grand Finalist announcement after each Semi-Final event.

L’Oréal Colour Trophy Afro Award and L’Oreal Colour Specialist Award: 9 May 2022

L’Oréal Colour Trophy 2022
Entrants from the UK had the choice of five categories, whilst those in Ireland had three. The categories are as follows:
L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award: A total look award that requires entrants to create a colour look on any model of any gender or gender identity of any hair type.
✓ L’Oréal Colour Trophy STAR Award: For 16-25-year-olds, a before and after photo is required to enter and STAR entrants will be interviewed on their work by the judges should they be successful in reaching the Semi-Final stage.
✓ L’Oréal Colour Trophy Afro Award (UK only): A total look award that requires entrants to create a colour look on any model of any gender or gender identity of a hair type texture between 3C and 4C.
✓ L’Oréal Colour Specialist Award (UK only): For those hair colour aficionados who have passed the 15-day L’Oréal Professionnel Paris Colour Specialist Diploma. Entrants will be put through their technical paces should they reach the national Semi-Final in May.
✓ L’Oréal Colour Trophy Future Talent Award: For college students, part or full time, who are studying on one of the listed eligible courses across the UK & Ireland.
