L’oréal colour trophy 2016 open for entries

The 2016 L’Oréal Colour Trophy opened for entries on Monday 4 January. The competition will now reach out further through the UK with nine regional heats. Are you passionate about hair colour trends? Do you think you have what it takes to compete against colourists from all over the UK? Whether you are at the beginning of your career or an experienced colourist, whether your salon specialises in men’s, women’s or afro hair, the L'Oréal Colour Trophy Awards has a category to suit your skills. Salons have 60 days to submit their photographic entries - the closing date is Friday 26 February. There are four categories you can enter: The L’Oréal Colour Trophy Award, L’Oréal Men’s Image Award, Mizani Afro Look Award and new for 2016 is the L’Oréal Colour Trophy Star Award, which replaces the Young Colourist Award. The new category is open to colourists aged between 18 – 25 years and entrants will need to submit a photographic (not video) entry. Once the photographic entries have all been submitted they will be judged by a panel of the hairdressing industry’s most iconic names. The successful salons in each category will be announced on line on the 4  March and will then go head-to-head at the one of the nine brand new Backstage Live Finals to be held across the UK from the 3 April – 20 April. Successful salons from each of the Backstage Live Finals will then go onto compete at the Grand Final on the 13 June. The L’Oréal Colour Trophy Awards also offer the winners a year of money-can’t-buy opportunities, including an exclusive three-day European trip to shoot the winning look and a photo shoot with a leading consumer glossy magazine for 2017, plus numerous PR opportunities throughout the year. The event will climax at the Grand Final event to be held on 13 June at a brand new London venue in the prestigious Intercontinental London – The O2.
