Looking good naked is hard work!
Gok and I had a moment this morning during filming, to mourn the loss of Alexander McQueen. It is the death of an icon. I worked on one of his shows, with another hairdresser. It is very sad and a great loss to the industry. I took a lot of inspiration from Alexander McQueen, and he will be sadly missed.
Back in Somerset, my salon finally closed down on the Saturday so that the builders could get in. I have been filming the next series of How to Look Good Naked in the Bullring, in Birmingham, and my phone has been ringing every ten minutes with builders asking questions I couldn't answer! The fittings and furniture go in on Monday - I can't wait.
How to Look Good Naked has been fantastic fun as ever, but very hard work. I have done five days filming, working on six contributors and five models, 3 different looks in one day and we worked out that I had done 45 different hairstyles and 6 contributor make-overs in a week!
Last week I went to the HABB ball, and did my bit for charity by buying a signed picture of Wayne Rooney. That's my team so I had to have it!
In terms of current looks, I am really enjoying the Kate Moss silver highlights furore. While I am not a massive fan of that particular look, I think the light slice highlights in pastel shades look really gorgeous, particularly with the mauvey lilac hair accessories that are just everywhere.
I am feeling particularly good at the moment as I have returned my hair to its natural colour. I am no longer a bleached blonde! I didn't want to be blonde for Summer. Changing hair colour can be a nightmare for continuity on a show so I thought I had better get it out of the way now!
