London fashion week spring/summer 2014: mark fast

Nick Irwin and the TIGI team created the hair for the Mark Fast SS14 show based on the theme of gothic warriors.

Show: Mark Fast
Stylist: Nick Irwin and the TIGI team
The inspiration: Gothic warriors with an element of trashiness, but still a certain sexiness. This look gives a nod to Camden.
The look: Nick explained that while he was originally planning to add black extensions to the hair, he decided instead on wigs for the synthetic, 'trashy' look they were trying to achieve. He wanted to hair to take centre stage along with the clothes and really make a statement. He said that the aesthetic and shape of the hair was intended to look sexy but dangerous at the same time.

Get the look: The wigs were sprayed with TIGI Session Series Salt Spray and then backcombed and moulded into shape using the heat of a hairdryer to help achieve the effect.
Nick then waited until the wigs had been fitted to the models before doing a bespoke cut to suit that particular girl - "it has to be suitable for each person, just like when you have a client in the salon", said Nick.
TIGI Catwalk Your Highness was then sprayed onto the wigs to give them strong hold.
"It's great working with Mark because he's happy to experiment with the avant garde" said Nick.
