London fashion week spring/summer 2014: david koma

Kenna created lacquer-look hair for the David Koma Spring/Summer 2014 show at London Fashion Week. Show: David Koma Stylist: Kenna for ghd The inspiration: Sleek folds, like the obi belts used to secure kimonos. The look: Tight, sharply-pulled back double ponytails, with hair wrapping the band and poker-straight lengths finished with a lacquer-like shine achieved with the ghd eclipse. [gallery ids="23291,23289,23288"] Get the look:  Spray wet hair with ghd style root lift spray and blow-dry with the ghd air hairdryer, brushing with the ghd oval dressing brush to achieve a smooth, shiny finish. Use a ghd tail comb to guide hair an inch away from the temple at the hairline and then diagonally back above the ear. Do this on each side of the head. Next is the top section, which continues from the top of the two side sections to create a square, which will end just before the crown. Again, clip this hair out of the way. Bring the remaining hair back to the nape of the neck using the dressing brush and tie with an elastic band as tightly as possible. The two side sections created at the beginning will now need to be joined together; do this by brushing them horizontally back and bringing together two inches above the ponytail. Tie with a thin elastic. Bring the top section of hair back to join the pony at the nape. Use ghd style final fix hairspray to spray the underside of the section, which will help to stick it down and, once again, use a small elastic band to join everything together. Take a small piece of longer hair from the ponytail and wrap around the base to cover the elastic, going both around and under the two ponytail sections to define it. Spray very close with ghd style final fix hairspray to secure in place and pin if needed. Add contrast to the top and side sections of hair using the ghd style final shine spray. This will also create shine definition from the rest of the hair. Finally, to complete the look, run the ghd eclipse styler over the ponytail to create ultimate shine and straightness.
