Amanda-Wakeley-hair-ss12.jpgMalcolm Edwards and the L'Oréal Professionnel team created a 1950s updo with a twist for the Amanda Wakeley Spring/Summer 2012 show at London Fashion Week.

Inspiration: 1950s fashion icon Nancy 'Slim' Keith inspired an elegant updo.

Get the look: The finished look was a twisted ponytail intertwined with black jersey fabric which also served as a headband.

To get the look, hair was prepared with a cocktail of L'Oréal Professionnel tecni.art Pli Thermo Fixing Spray and L'Oréal Professional Play Ball Texture Tonic.

Hair was then split in to two ponytails; one from above the ears to the crown, the other very low on the nape. Hair was then coated with L'Oréal Professionnel tecni.Art Metallic Gloss Wax to add a shiny finish.

A long piece of jersey fabric was then wrapped around both ponytails and pinned to the head, using a small dab of L'Oréal Professionnel tecni.art Fix Design to keep the ponytails malleable.

Products: L'Oréal Professionnel tecni.art Pli Thermo Fixing Spray, Play Ball Texture Tonic, tecni.Art Metallic Gloss Wax and Fix Design.
