London fashion week autumn/winter 2013: kristian aadnevik

Errol Douglas created Trojan ponytails for the Kristian Aadnevik Autumn/Winter 2013 show at London Fashion Week.
Show: Kristian Aadnevik
Stylist: Errol Douglas for Moroccanoil
The inspiration: Lady Godiva meets Trojan horse, referencing the signature 'pony' of the Household Cavalry helmet.
"We wanted to blend with and follow through on the collection's spirit and theme," said Errol. "I created a powerful pony placed high on the crown that delivers that almost regimented feel, whilr a femininity and softness is introduced through the luxurious shine and natural movement worked into the cascade of the tail. It's Lady Godiva meets Trojan Warrior with two variations."
The look: Wet hair was prepped with Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to add hold and movement, before blow-drying the hair with a barrel brush to create shine and body.
Dry hair was then separated into three sections, with the bottom section secured out of the way and the middle and top sections left loose.
The middle section was then divided in two and backcombed and sprayed with Luminous Hairspray. These sections were then brushed smoothly up on top of the head and secured in a taut elastic. The front section was then backbrushed and sprayed too and smoothed back over the existing 'middle section' ponytail, twisting around and pushing to create a hint of quiff.
The bottom section was then brushed up using a curved brush to hug the head, then secured in to the top ponytail. More elastic was wrapped around the base to make the ponytail stick out and swing more. A strip of lace was then wrapped around the twist.
Hairspray was added for hold and shine and before the models walked out, hair was rubbed slightly around the hairline to create wispy flyaways.
Key product: Moroccanoil Treatment, Hydrating Styling Cream, Luminous Hairspray, Barrel Brush
The gossip: All eyes were on the Moroccanoil hairdryers backstage - not available in the UK yet, so these ones were specially ordered and wired for the Brits. Fingers crossed for a launch here soon, please!
