London fashion week autumn/winter 2012: meadham kirchhoff

Show: Meadham Kirchhoff

Stylist: James Pecis with Bumble and bumble and BaByliss PRO

Inspiration: Drag queen Divine and club kids including Trojan.

The look: Colourful, raw, creative with an individual look for each of the 24 models. Hair was slicked back tightly with voluminous textured hairpieces backcombed and pinned on from the crown backwards to sit as far back as possible.

Each look was individual with different coloured hair pieces, glitter and coloured hairspray used in each.

Get the look: Hair was slicked back with a combination of hairspray and thickening spray - with what James described as, "the strongest products possible" - and secured tightly at the nape. James used the BaByliss PRO Volare to dry the hair as quickly as possibly as with 24 different model looks, time was of the essence.

For wigs, the hair was flattened as tightly to the head as possible, using a tail comb and extra strength holding spray while wrapping the hair around the head in a spiral movement. A wig cap was placed and hair glue secured the wig onto the head.

For bouffant looks, hair was backcombed with a tail comb and sprayed with hairspray to stand on end, then set in shape and covered with coloured hairspray.

Key products: BaByliss PRO Volare dryer, Bumble and bumble Does it All, Thickening Spray and Extra Strength Hairspray

The gossip: The hair plan had included prosthetics to create a Divine-style shaved area at the front, but was dropped at the last minute. The change caused no concern to the unflappable James, who quickly created a workaround.
