Andy Heasman International Artistic Director of Rush Hair has sent me through his hands-on experience from backstage at London Collections: Men Autumn/Winter 2014.
Andy worked as part of a team which was lead by session stylist Johnnie Sapong on two show - Rake and Oliver Spencer.

“The brief for Rake A/W 2014 men’s collection was to create hair that was well lived in and looked healthy," says Andy. "The designer wanted hair that was not too precise or too groomed and had a laid back softness to it. The hair looked natural with lots of movement. A look, which was inspired by Hollywood legend, Robert Redford.
"

At Oliver Spencer A/W 2014 the brief was to enhance the individual models hair and work with the natural texture in the hair so that it didn’t look over groomed and more rough and ready.
"The length of the hair varied. On the models with shorter hair, the hair was cut without taking it too clean and still leaving it with movement and texture.
"On the models with longer hair we used dry shampoo to take out all of the moisture and leave the hair with a grungy feel, which didn’t distract from the clothes.”
