Lisa whiteman wins goldwell color zoom 2011

Lisa Whiteman of Webster Whiteman was announced as global winner at the Goldwell Color Zoom 2011 final in Miami - the second year in a row that the UK has clinched the prestigious title.

The biggest ever Color Zoom global event saw over 2,500 hairdressers representing 40 countries descend on South Beach, for a spectacular celebration of all things colour.

Following a welcome cocktail party the live competition began bright and early at 8am on Sunday morning, with hairdressers heading the landmark Miami Convention Centre to recreate their winning looks.

Finalists had three hours to reproduce their winning colour creation, before each category was judged by an international judging panel. 

That evening guests were treated to a three-course gala dinner - complete with local speciality, Key Lime Pie - with live entertainment from acrobats and drummers, suspended from the rafters of the famous convention centre.

Celebrated American stylist Nick Arrojo, who recently joined Goldwell as US ambassador, showcased a series of colourful and creative looks, including a new twist on this year's dip-dye trend with a nod to next season's trends.

The new ColorZoom trend was then premiered, introducing the crowd to FasciNature - natural hair inspired by plants, sea creatures, insects and patterns from the natural world. Innovative textures, shimmering tones and organic shapes set the trend for 2012's collection.

Awe-inspiring avant garde interpretations from the Color Zoom International Creative Team closed the show, before the globel winners were announced by CEO of KPSS, Anthony Pucciarelli.

Lisa, who co-owns WebsterWhiteman with her partner Darren Webster, said of her triumph: "I'm on such a high and I don't want it to end - it's such a buzz. The team at the salon are so happy for me; they were a bit emotional when they heard the news. It is inspiring for them and motivating for us all."

The following morning allowed hairdressers to take a closer look at the new FasciNature trend, with a look and learn seminar from Neil Barton and the International Color Zoom Creative Team.

To say farewell, Goldwell organised an exclusive party at the famous Nikki Beach Club on South Beach. A private beach, exotic palm trees and endless cocktails provided the perfect farewell to Miami for the winners and competitors.
