I work for Farleigh Hospice, a charity which looks after terminally ill people and their families, and we are trying to launch a hairdressing service for patients.
This would enable patients who are either too unwell or feel too self-conscious to go to a high street hairdresser to come in and have their hair done at the hospice free of charge, and we know from experience what a big difference something like this can make to how a patient feels.
We are seeking hairdressers in the Essex area who can spare a few hours every now and again to volunteer at the hospice and make a big difference to the lives of our patients.
We have a brand-new purpose-built salon, but now we need the stylists to work in it. Anyone who has experience of wigs for cancer patients would be ideal.

Real vision
I was asked to judge the Scottish Regional Wella Professionals Trend Vision heat in Glasgow and I was very impressed with the standard of work involved in this prestigious award. Thirty entrants battled for a place in the final, of which seven went through.
What impressed me most was the level of work these entrants put into their models - the age of the entrants seemed quite young, yet the standard of their presentations was phenomenal. Well done to everyone who got through to this stage of the competition, and best of luck to the seven finalists who got through to the grand final.
This competition is a great experience and it is events like this that make hairdressing the exciting, energetic industry that it is. Thank you Wella Professionals, this is a great competition which gets entrants to really think about image, fashion and great hairdressing.

Expert advice provides unbeatable inspiration
I attended ghd Expert's Journey to the Catwalk tour in Bristol recently. The whole day was a fantastic event, and very professionally presented.
Being the ghd Expert in my salon,
I receive information about the tour, but nothing could have prepared me for what I saw. It was total inspiration.
From different ways of using the irons and products, to creating hair up with nothing more than a needle and ribbon, it was hairdressing heaven. I would advise any creative stylist to go and be as inspired by the tour as I have been.
