Lee stafford opens up at fellowship in business event

The Fellowship for British Hairdressing treated guests at its 2016 In Business event to a candid interview with celebrity hairdresser Lee Stafford, plus offered the experience of a panel of industry experts. Proceeds from the event, held at the ghd studio in London’s Soho, went to The Hairdressers Charity.
Edward Hemmings was the compere for the night and chatted with Lee about his career, with Lee talking very openly about his rise to the top.
Lee recalled his early career, working from his mum’s living room, for six years cutting hair with very little training behind him and eventually opening his own salon at the age of just 22. One of the highlights of his career was winning Men’s Hairdresser of the Year at HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional, which he described as a “game changer”, winning him TV spots on ITV’s This Morning and leading to the launch of his own consumer product range.
Lee left the audience with this positive message: “I have never done a day’s work in my life and I have always been content and happy in what I do”.
Next Edward welcomed to the stage a panel of industry experts for a question and answer session with the audience. Clive Collins, director of HOB Salons; Michelle Griffin from Griffins Salon in Birmingham and Louise Wood from LWPR. The session covered and covered topics including recruitment, social media and discounting.
