The 2023 BAFTAs definitely brought the A-game when it came to hair looks. The stars and stylists united to create fabulous hair that offset the actor's outfits perfectly. Held at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday 19 February, here the HJ team recaps the red carpet looks that caught our attention.

Florence Pugh's Micro-Fringe and Fanned Updo

"Echoing the pleats in her dress Florence's hair was styled by Peter Lux into a fanned-out updo, paired with an edgy microfringe. Florence can do no wrong in my eyes, and I love that this look is both pretty and punky - just like Florence herself."

Munroe Bergdorf's Hollywood Gothic Locks

"Munroe's hair was styled by Mikai McDermott into glossy, Hollywood gothic waves that were perfect for the red carpet. Paired with a custom lace gown by the fashion brand Dreaming Eli, this scene stealing look turned heads, and demonstrated the power of a soft wave."

Sophie Turner's Long Red Locks and Curtain Bangs

"Long, glossy, red waves and a debut of her brand new curtain bangs, Sophie's hair is a firm favourite of mine from the awards evening. The look – styled by Christian Wood – effortlessly complemented her cheekbones and gave that super classy, chic vibe."

Angela Bassett's Sleek Centre-Parting and Long Locks

"While the sleeves of Angela's Pamella Roland gown screamed volume, her hair was superbly sleek. Styled by Randy Stodghill, the hair unit - by Inanch Emir - allowed for soft, princess-style waves, which made for a perfect pairing with the lilac dress. I loved seeing Angela embrace her softer side, in contrast to some of her recent roles."
