Keune haircosmetics uk breaks ground on training academy Keune Haircosmetics, a leading multination brand who have been 100% loyal to hairdressing professionals for the past 100 years, has broken ground on its new flagship training academy in Central London, as well as employing a general manager to grow the brand within the UK. Darren Potter has been appointed as country director for the UK, who brings with him more than 28 years of experience, having previously held a variety of leadership roles within the hair industry. In this role, Darren will be responsible for leading and developing the business across the UK, as well as supporting its current salons. Alongside this appointment, construction has also officially started at the new 5,700 square foot, state-of-the-art development in Holborn, London, which will boast a coffee shop and bakery, training academy, Keune UK headquarters and the House of Keune, a 29 seat salon due to open in September 2022. Rather than being a Keune-owned salon however, the academy will be home to a new Bloom Lifestyle business – a luxury environmental salon chain, currently with salons in Aberdeen and Glasgow, both of which combine the best in creative hair styling and beauty treatments. Bloom Lifestyle is owned by Sheona Forrest and will see a whole new team put together for the London salon. Commenting on his role, Darren said: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join a brand such as Keune and to lead the team in this next phase of the company’s growth. Seeing the commitment and loyalty Keune has to its people, the industry and the sustainability of the planet is inspiring and in line with my own personal values. “I am also very excited to see the development of a first for the brand globally, with the House of Keune by Bloom salon and flagship training academy. This is a huge investment for Keune, as we are here to show that we are serious about the UK hairdressing industry and are looking forward to welcoming hairdressers from around the UK to visit our state-of-the-art location.” The House of Keune by Bloom is currently recruiting for various positions within the salon, from hair professionals and barbers, to front desk and salon management, as well as positions for those wishing to complete their hairdressing training using Bloom’s unique training, development and support package. Of the salon opening, Sheona said: “I am beyond excited for this next phase of Bloom Lifestyle’s growth; to be opening a salon in Central London with such a vibrant brand, and with some incredible talent that will be announced soon, is huge for us! We already have two strong businesses in Scotland, so I’m really looking forward to bringing the Bloom Lifestyle touch to the House of Keune with Keune Haircosmetics UK.”
