The popular in-salon treatment service by KeraStraight, which produces results that keep curly and wavy hair smooth for up to four months has been updated with a hydrating element that works perfectly in Afro hair.
The 3rd generation KeraStraight technology is formed of new advanced blends of proteins that delivers extra hydration, strength and a high intensity shine creating repairing and straightening results that you never thought possible all of which was crafted in by the brand's chemists in Brazil.
Ultimate Treatment has increased hydration levels which allows the advanced blend of low pH proteins to penetrate deep into the hair shaft before expanding.
The Ultimate Treatment promises to suit every hair type, from the weakest, most damaged hair to very curly and resistant. But if clients are in need of a little more help to achieve a straight and smooth result they can opt for the Ultimate Booster.
This highly concentrated formula is a shot specifically designed to deliver extra straightening power for clients with very curly and Afro-Caribbean hair. Ultimate Booster enables Ultimate Treatment to penetrate further into the cortex, the hair’s inner structure, where the proteins can create the greatest transformation. The customisable formula means even the most resilient hair can enjoy the greater straightening power.
We travelled to Trevor Sorbie Salon in London's Covent Garden to see the New Ultimate Booster and Treatment in action on a client with Afro-Caribbean hair as tended to by Ben, senior technician at the salon.
HJ - On what occasions would you recommend KeraStraight Ultimate Treatment and Ultimate Booster to your clients?
Ben - If they’re going away on holiday, if they find it difficult to blow-dry their hair, if they’ve got Afro hair and they want to to be smoother. Anyone with any kind of kink that they don’t like in their hair, it’s perfect for them really.
HJ - Is this the kind of treatment that you would have to get more than once?
Ben - If you want to revert back to curls, then just a sulphate shampoo just gets rid of it really quickly. That’s why we stress please don’t use a sulphate shampoo if you want to retain the treatment.
