Kaia gerber's latest hairstyle makes life difficult for hairdressers Model Kaia Gerber revealed a gorgeous new 70s hair look complete with waist-length extensions for a recent photoshoot. In contrast to her usual blunt bob, this is a really dramatic change for the 19-year-old daughter of Cindy Crawford. https://www.instagram.com/p/CI0pDOtDhvj/ With some serious Cher vibes the look was created (obviously!) with extensions and the ends were left stylishly undone. The high fashion look is clearly playing on the laidback trend that's grown out of the pandemic.
She definitely provides clients with long-hair inspiration, particularly those who have dodged regular haircuts during 2020.
But what do hairdressers really think of this unkempt look?
“The most important thing when it comes to hair extensions is how to care for them. Extensions can make hair weaker and more venerable so its really important to not only use professional hair care that will nourish your hair but also consider the hair tools you are using. The Manta healthy hairbrush is ideal for anyone who has extensions as its the first brush to mold to the shape of your hand & scalp, creating less tension on each strand with every stroke while stimulating the scalp to promote healthy hair growth. Its patented FLEXGUARD technology (on the base) enables each bristle to have complete 360 (degree) motion, gently freeing knots & minimising breakage. Plus its created from soft touch material which means no rough edges to catch or tear the hair shaft or bonds." Zoe Irwin, ambassador for Manta
“Super-long hair is still popular with clients - and part of my job is to ensure their homecare regime keeps their natural hair and their extensions looking and feeling healthy and strong. Images like this are great for inspiration - and I think clients today are aware that their long hair and extensions need looking after, otherwise they will have to chop it off! To get this look is all about the product use - a texturising spray will give that matte, undone finish without causing any damage! Perfect for styling without compromising the quality of the hair.”

"Extensions have always been popular with clients but more so recently due to the influence of celebrities. As we move into 2021, the trend of 'long, long hair extensions' is more popular than ever with fashion houses such as YSL showing the trend within their latest campaigns. Although they look fantastic, clients must remember that having longer extensions requires constant maintenance. They can become more matted and knotted a lot easier and also can become extremely dry. I would advise any clients who wish to follow this trend to ensure they have time to maintain this look, visit the salon for regular trims and use regular hair masks."

"It can be quite difficult when clients see images like this, where the hair is long, thick, dense and has amazing texture because you do have to have the right amount of density hair to create the look, even if their trying to achieve aa more natural, un-done textured finish. This is a perfect example of where Great Lengths Hair Extensions are a great option, as very few people are lucky enough to have natural hair as long as this. They work so amazingly because they really add extra density and thickness to someone’s look and helps you to create lots of styles with ease, without having to try and disguise fine hair or make it look thicker than it is. I think it’s really important to encourage anyone with longer hair (whether it’s naturally long or extensions) to come in for regular trims and tidy-ups and really think about their at home care too. Very often, when people have long hair, they skip appointments, whereas long hair really needs trimming regularly to keep it in condition. Healthier hair means you can do so much more with it!"
