John Paul DeJoria has been honoured with The Dream Foundation Humanitarian Award in recognition of his generous contributions to the foundation since 2002.
The co-founder of John Paul Mitchell systems was awarded the title at the 2014 Celebration of Dreams Gala where, in the spirit of the evening, John Paul spontaneously donated $100,000 to the Dream Foundation’s latest project, Dreams For Veterans, during his acceptance speech.
The Dream Foundation seeks to bring to life the wishes of adults facing life-threatening illness and their new project will help facilitate the dreams of U.S. military veterans.
John Paul said: "Veterans of this nation put their lives on the line every day to help maintain our way of life. On behalf of the families at John Paul Mitchell Systems and The Patron Spirits Company, and as a veteran myself, it is with great pride that I make this donation to help the new division of the Dream Foundation flourish on behalf of veterans nationwide."
"John Paul DeJoria is a caring and accomplished humanitarian who has helped bring peace, comfort, and closure to countless dream recipients and their loved ones through the fulfillment of final dreams," added Dream Foundation Executive Director, Kisa Heyer. "A true humanitarian, he lives each day by his renowned philosophy that ‘success unshared is failure,’ and he has demonstrated this through the time and resources he’s invested in making the world a better place for our dreamers."
The Dream Foundation relies on the generosity of benefactors like John Paul. It is just one of the charities that he supports through philanthropic work and his tagline, 'Giving Back is the New Black.'
