John paul dejoria honoured with prestigious navy award

JP DeJoria Lone Sailor Award.jpgPaul Mitchell CEO John Paul DeJoria was recently honoured for services to the country and community at the United States Navy Memorial 2012 Lone Sailor Award Dinner.


The prestigious Lone Sailor Award is given to veterans who have excelled within their respective civilian careers, while exemplifying the Navy's core values of honour, courage and commitment.


John Paul completed two years of service with the U.S. Navy, before going on to found John Paul Mitchell Systems alongside the late Paul Mitchell.


"I joined the U.S. Navy after graduating from high school only to find that it would exceed all of my expectations," said John Paul. "It afforded me the opportunity to visit many foreign shores while learning the personal management and teamwork skills that would help me later on in my career."  


"I am so proud and humbled to be acknowledged by the U.S. Navy Memorial with the Lone Sailor Award for continuing what I learned when joining the Navy as a 17 year-old."
