Jamie Benny, previous winner of HJ’s
British Hairdressing Awards Newcomer of the Year, got led the new
Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s
ClubStar Art Team in a dynamic workshop in a dynamic workshop recently.
The inspirational, trend-led workshop was hosted at the Goodwill Academy and left many motivated, encouraged and light-hearted after the talk. “I have always loved his work on Instagram and have been counting down the days to spend the day with him,” says April Mash from
Strangeways. “As a young hairdresser who enjoys entering competitions, spending the day with a big award winner was even more appealing to me!”
As a former
F.A.M.E. Team member, Jamie Benny, from Hare and Bone, is prone to inspire the next generation of hairdressing talent. The interactive session was one of the latest inspiring education days for ClubStar Art Team.
The ClubStar Art Team, which represents the best emerging talent in the Fellowship aged under 25, is all about exposing young creatives to mentors who can help shape and influence their careers.
The focus on Jamie’s hands-on hair-up session was long hairdressing and styling techniques for hair up looks, focusing on key styles that form the basis of much of his session, salon and show work.
The Club Star Art Team could practice their ponytails, classic waves and chignons with padding, having Jamie’s as a mentor by their side, following his tricks for achieving the perfect, lasting, wearable finish. Jamie managed to fit within the session techniques for braiding, suitable for photographic work.
April Mash shares how proud she felt of the achieved results in time of one session with Jamie, saying: “Jamie explained every step so clearly, shared so many tips and made the learning process very relaxed and easier than I had expected. He was so patient with us as a group, which made the day really enjoyable. I left feeling really proud of what we had achieved in such a short amount of time.”
