Is this the most wearable haute couture look you've ever seen? Haute couture and wearable fashion don't usually go hand in hand, however, Eugene Souleiman's vision for the hair at the Ellery Haute Couture AW18 Show proved that with a dose of simplicity it is possible to create an on-trend high fashion look. The Wella Professionals global creative director and ghd ambassador created the 'elegant meets tough' style using Wella and ghd products. He chose this look to complement Ellery’s designs, which he describes as displaying a 'really strong attitude'. "There are elements of masculinity, Victoriana and a cool, natural texture as well. We were also inspired by the clothes, which are beautiful,” explains Eugene. Ellery Haute Couture kit

The Technique

"We're using the ghd Air Hairdryer (£99) to create a natural texture and Wella Professionals EIMI Sugar Lift to ensure lightness and remove any oil from the hair, which is key.” Ellery Haute Couture ghd air “For the second step we’re using Wella Professionals EIMI Dynamic Fix. We take a panel of hair from the centre of the head, allowing the edges of the panel to fall down and create a side parting. Working with the remainder of the hair (this should be the underneath section) we take sections and spray the roots with Wella Professionals EIMI Dynamic Fix. There’s a trick to this application – we’re not just spraying the roots, we’re spraying them at an angle to distribute the product without creating a line.” He adds: “We’re looking for a seamless flow of texture. A clean, sharp and shiny texture that resembles satin to complement the weightless and soft fabrics used in the show and we're interpreting it in the hair.” Eugene used a small amount of Wella Professionals EIMI Sculpt Force at the roots using a paint brush to reinforce the appearance of a satin finish. After this, the hair was diffused with the ghd Air Hairdryer to smooth flyaways. Ellery Haute Couture eimi Eugene brought various sections of hair over the top of the head using Wella Professionals EIMI Dynamic Fix at the roots. The majority of sectioned hair was brushed across the head and tucked behind the ears so the textures could blend together. The remaining strands were pulled back to look taut and reflect the Victorian masculinity theme. Ellery Haute Couture finished
