Yorkshire's largest independent hairdressing training provider is making sure its apprentices have access to the latest in technology by offering them subsidised iPads and iPads minis to help with their studies.
Dimensions Training Solutions is offering either of the tablets to apprentices for a small fee during their training - which they can keep once they've completed their studies.
Apprentices are being encouraged to create e-portfolios, carry out research and use the U2Learn online service to boost their studies. Sharing their work through social media has also proved popular.
Bill Shaw, chairman of Dimensions Training Solutions, said: "The subsidised iPads and iPad minis are for apprentices’ exclusive use, to take home or to the salon for studying there.
"They can use them to photograph their work and upload it to their e-portfolio, watch cutting and styling videos, access e-mails or download helpful apps.
"And the best bit is that when they complete their apprenticeship, they can keep the iPad as our way of saying congratulations and well done."
