Hairdressers and others working in the hairdressing industry came out in force on 30 June to support the Helping Hairdressers Day. More than £5,000 was raised on the day itself, with further donations arriving after the event.
With a simple purple theme, salons, manufacturers and industry influencers got creative, baking cakes, colouring their hair, and donning purple clothes.
The salon team that raised the most on the day was Bruce Low Hair, who contributed £1,500 to the fund by donating profits for the day and holding a client prize draw.
“We’re overwhelmed with the support from industry experts, hairdressers and businesses, who came together to make this year the best yet,” said David Drew, president of The Hairdressers’ Charity.
