On the night, guests were greeted with champagne and canapés, carried by hair models that the employees had prepared earlier, before being entertained by a saxophonist and a hair competition that saw the salon's five new assistant stylists competing to create a glamorous yet funky look on a model for the evening, Sean Dawson judged the five looks and picked upcoming star 17-year-old Tanya Yeats as the winner for her glamorous up-do (pictured left).Hush owners, brothers John Doolan and Creative Director Donald Doolan, have been looking forward to the launch for 2 years – the time it took to secure the premises. And they couldn’t be happier with the finished salon. "This has been our dream for such a long time and to see it realised is absolutely fantastic," says John. "There is no better feeling than seeing your clients happy and feeling good when they leave the salon, and the concept of Hush is to make clients feel good through the entire salon experience – from the minute they walk through the door.” Designed with LA style décor, the salon has a number of unique features suhce as the the Juiceworx Juice bar, run by business partners Gareth Price & Simon Oxley, where clients can relax and choose from a vast array of healthy, energy boosting and delicious smoothies. In addition, the salon boasts its own photography area which acts as a studio for shooting portraits (another in-salon service offered by Hush), and soon to be used for shooting their collections too. Hush also offer beauty services, through established beauty experts Images of Bathagte, and have two beauty rooms, and a designated area for manicures and teeth-whitening services.
