Dua Lipa debuted her ‘waterfall fringe’ when she attended Cannes Film Festival in May, and we’re all feeling so inspired! With a 1,400% increase in searches for ‘curtain bangs’, it seems clients will be after some hair care tips on how to maintain a fringe over the summer. With the occasional heatwave and summer weather and humidity, clients' fringes and bangs can be left feeling frazzled. Andrew Vassiliou, Director of Chris and Sons has shared is tips on how to maintain a picture-perfect fringe, from spring to summer for you to share with your clients when they visit the salon: “In hot weather, heavy hair products can make a client's fringe feel greasy or weighed down. Encourage them to opt for lightweight styling products such as texturising sprays or dry shampoos to keep their fringe looking fresh and voluminous all through the day. When we’re hot and sweating, it can be tempting to wash our hair on a daily basis, but this just leads to it being stripped of its natural oils. Instead, clients should wash their fringe less frequently and use a gentle, sulphate-free shampoo. Dry shampoo is also a lifesaver when it comes to maintaining a fringe between washes. It helps absorb excess oil and adds volume to limp or oily hair. Client should also consider blow-drying their fringe using a round brush after washing. This will help keep it in place and prevent it from becoming frizzy or flat. It's also important to remember that just like our skin, our hair can also suffer from UV damage. Choosing hair products with built-in UV protection or wearing a hat to shield a fringe from the sun will help maintain the health and colour of the hair, keeping it in good condition throughout the summer season.” Do you know what the top 13 hairstyles are in the UK right now?
