Create a look with youth appeal with this exclusive step-by-step guide from HJ Men Spring/Summer 2011. Just follow the simple steps below.

Step OneStep Two
Step One: Divide the hair into three sections: sides/back, top and front.

Step Two: Begin at the back using classic techniques to create clean, square layering shapes.

Step ThreeStep Four
Step Three: Follow through to each side, ensuring fluidity between the back and sides.

Step Four: Using the scissor-over-comb technique, work the layers with tapering scissors to create a soft, grown-out feel.

Step FiveStep Six
Step Five: Point-cut into the side edges to remove sharp lines.

Step Six: Working on the top section, point-cut to create a textured crown.

Step SevenStep Eight
Step Seven: Disconnect the top crown section allowing it to fall onto the side and back.

Step Eight: Use point-cutting and slicing techniques to connect the top right to the side.

Step NineStep Ten
Step Nine: Ensure the left side is more disconnected so it flows into the fringe.Step Ten: Cut the fringe short on the right, leaving it longer on the left.
