The ghd Midnight Collection is twelve professional looks all inspired by the Autumn/Winter 2010 catwalk shows and created using the new ghd Gold Classic styler.
Here is how you can create a bold and beautiful exaggerated bun using your stylers.

Step One: Take a centre parting from the front of the hair to the nape, and a second parting from crown to ears. From the nape take a 2cm horizontal section then a 2cm vertical sub section. Place the styler vertically at the root and rotate 180 degrees. Glide through, then rotate and repeat towards the crown. | Step Two: Working from the parting, take a horizontal section 2cm deep above the ear. |
 | |
Step Three: Place the iron horizontally at the root with your thumb on top. Rotate 180 degrees and glide through the hair, then rotate 180 degrees in the opposite direction and repeat. | Step Four: Take a centre parting to the crown. Then take a vertical parting from the crown to behind the ear on the left and the right, and clip away the back panel. |
 | |
Step Five: Take two small sections from both the left and right top sections close to the crown, then connect the two small sections with a rope braid. Secure at the ends with elastic and coil the braid back to the crown into a small bun, and secure. | Step Six: For maximum height and shape, use a large hair pad at the crown and secure to the braided bun. |
 | |
Step Seven: Take a 1cm-thick horseshoe section, bring round to the front, twist and clip away. | Step Eight: Starting at the left, take a rectangular 1cm-thick section and backbrush up and over the added hairpiece. Continue through the sides and back, ensuring the outer surface is smooth. |
 | |
Step Nine: Leave a small section at the nape. At the front separate this piece into two. Take the top piece and backbrush, getting lighter as you get to the ends. Fold up and over the top, twisting the ends and securing at the top with a pin. Repeat with the final front and nape sections, shaping with your free hand. | Step Ten: Place a piece of covered elastic around the base of the finished shape, pulling the whole shape into an exaggerated bun and tie at the back with a double knot. Take a pre-prepared weft that has been plaited into a three-stem braid. Wrap around the base, covering the elastic, and secure at the back with a pin. |
