Hooker & young style charity fashion show
British Hairdresser of the Year 2009 nominees Gary Hooker & Michael Young have helped to raise much-needed funds for Martin House Children's Hospice by styling the hair at an exclusive fashion show.
The Wetherby-based charity helps families who have a child or young person with a life-limiting terminal condition, so Gary and Michael were happy to lend their support.
Held at the breathtaking Bramham Park, Leeds, the show featured models dressed in creations by some of the most inspirational names in fashion by matchesfashion.com teamed with shoes from the Brain Atwood crystal stiletto collection.
Marie Nieuwoudt, who arranged the fashion show, says: "Undoubtedly, the highlight was watching true craftsmanship blended with flair and a skill that was a joy to watch.
"Hooker & Young delivered hairdressing to innovate and inspire, with hair that was almost fluid with movement combined with shapes that were bold with a soft period edge to them.
"It was simply the most beautiful hair I have seen in a long time," she adds. "As a hairdresser myself, I take great pride in our industry.
"It is no wonder we are held as world leaders in our craft with amazing hairdressers like Gary and Michael travelling the globe as ambassadors of British hairdressing."
