Hj's 2010 british hairdresser of the year nominees announced

The nominees for the prestigious HJ's 2010 British Hairdresser of the Year Award have been announced.

The eight* world-renowned hairdressers have been shortlisted after receiving the most nominations from a specially selected group of industry experts, beauty journalists and international trade press.

The nominees (listed below) will now prepare their exclusive portfolio, which will be judged with the regional and specialist category finalists in October before the winner is announced at the British Hairdressing Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel in November.

This year's shortlist includes British Hairdresser of the Year 2008 and 2009 Akin Konizi  as well as the 2006 and 2007 winners Andrew Barton and Angelo Seminara. A new addition to this year's list is Tim Hartley.

And the nominees are:

  • Mark Hayes
  • Tim Hartley
  • Akin Konizi
  • Angelo Seminara
  • Phil Smith
  • Gary Hooker and Michael Young 

* Andrew Barton has decided not to accept his nomination in 2010.
