Monday saw the first ever HJ Business Live event - and it was a huge success. A capacity crowd watched presentations from three fantastic speakers from outside the hairdressing industry,offering their unique inspirational insights into areas including team building, brand marketing and business development.Kicking off the day was former Red Arrows deputy team leader, Justin Hughes., who spoke of the importance of effective team leadership and the need to lead by example. Next up was BJ Cunningham, who entertained the audience with the tale of how he created the Death Cigarettes brand and the power of being honest with your marketing. The final speaker was Yo! Sushi! founder, Simon Woodruffe who talked delegates through the process of developing a new business. Slotted between the motivational speakers were two panel session, in which members of the audience were invited to put questions to a line-up of top hairdressers and industry figures, including Toni and Guy franchisee, Phil Smith and Terry Sierocki of Sabre Group. The day was entertaining, informative and inspirational, with the speakers from outside the industry proving that some elemnets of business are universal.
