Help charities with aveda candles

Christmas is all about giving and receiving a beautifully scented Aveda candle should be top of everyone's Christmas wish list. Earlier this year they created the Light The Way candle for charity, donating 100% of the proceeds to charity. So far Aveda UK has raised more than £170,514, but where exactly does the money go? While the scent fills every room, money goes towards helping those around the world. Global Greengrants is Aveda’s global Earth Month partner, providing small grants to grass roots environmental groups around the world and is a benefactor of funds raised from every candle sale. However just under half of money raised goes to WaterAid – in fact in 2013 America donated more than $1.5m from the total candles sold. In 2013 Aveda supported WaterAid projects in Nepal and India where extreme poverty is widespread and millions of people lack access to clean, safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene.  Aveda also supported projects in the Andhra Pradesh state, India, working with WaterAid to improve community access to water, sanitation and hygiene .
