HJ's British Hairdressing Awards, sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional, is now open for entries and for the first time ever, Britain's most esteemed hairdressing awards have gone global. New for 2019, we're inviting the most talented stylists in the world to enter the International Hairdresser of the Year .

What is International Hairdresser of the Year? 

This brand new category is a celebration of the best worldwide hairdressing talent. We know that there are some amazing, artistic, talented hairdressers and we want to give them an opportunity to be a part of the Oscars of the Hairdressing Industry.

Who can enter? 

International Hairdresser of the Year is open to qualified stylists who are currently working in a commercial environment and have done so for a minimum of three years, excluding training.

How do you enter?

Creative stylists are invited to showcase their talent by submitting a collection of four 10" x 8" portrait photographs taken in the last 12 months. These should be submitted, along with before photographs taken on the day of the shoot, and sent to: Becca Painter, British Hairdressing Awards, Hairdressers Journal International 1.17 The Plaza, 535 Kings Road, London SW10 0SZ Entries will be judged at the British Hairdressing Awards 2019 first-round judging day. Are there any restrictions?

Hairdressers currently working in the UK are unable to enter this category. Entrants should have a regular client column in the country and see clients for a minimum of one day per week.
