Has the uk celebrity hairdresser had its day?

I read a huge amount of glossy magazines and recently there have been more and more hairdressers quoted in features that I have never heard of. As consumers continue to be celebrity obsessed, they want to hear what the stylists of top A-list celebrities are doing -- Hollywood stars rather than reality TV stars. What styles are they asking for? How do they look after their tresses? What advice are they given? Many of the stylists quoted seem to be LA and New York based, so is this the end of the UK celebrity hairdresser, or do they still have something to offer? With makeover shows as popular as ever, is UK hairdressing becoming known for its before and afters rather than its directional, trend-setting style, or is the glamour of America clouding people's judgements?
