Hair trends tried in salon - recreating the spirit of lfw

Like most salons, the team at
Spirit Hair Company love to follow London Fashion Week. But rather than admire from afar, a group of stylists from the salons in High Wycombe and Wallingford decided to take some of the key hair trends from the autumn/winter 2017 catwalks and turn them into salon-friendly looks for their clients.
Says salon co-director, Lauren Turner: “The team are always inspired by London Fashion Week, but we thought it would be a great idea to show how the hair from the catwalk can be filtered down into wearable styles for our clients.”
Here are some of the key looks that inspired the team, and how they recreated them...
Neat Ponytails

Stylist: Kylie Churchley

I used Goldwell Dual Senses Just Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner to wash the hair. I then applied Smooth Control Blow Dry Spray and brushed hair through with a paddle brush. I finished with StyleSign Soft Tamer and Styling Gel then Diamond Gloss and Big Finish Hairspray
Quiff

I washed hair with Goldwell Dual Senses Volume Shampoo & Conditioner. I then applied StyleSign Texture Spray for hold and pinned both sides back. I then backcombed the top, pulling out pieces at the front.

I washed hair with Dual Senses Just Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner. I then applied StyleSign Flat Marvel and KMS Hairplay styling gel, before blow-drying using a paddle brush. I secured the ponytail and finished with StyleSign Sprayer Hairspray to smooth front section.

I washed hair with Goldwell Dual Senses Rich Repair Shampoo & 6 Effects Serum. I blow-dried hair using a paddle brush and then applied StyleSign Smooth Control blow-dry spray and used Cloud Nine irons to smooth the hair. I finished with StyleSign Diamond Gloss Sprayer Hair Spray using the back of a hairbrush to smooth down any odd fly-aways.
Undercut braids

I washed hair using Duel Senses Rich Repair Shampoo and 6 Effects serum. I then blow-dried using a paddle brush and smoothed hair using Cloud Nine irons. I created the plait using styling gel to keep it tight to the head and finished with StyleSign Diamond Gloss Humidity Spray to keep smooth.
