Louis Vuitton's inspirational Summer show took its cue from the Art Deco designs of the 20s, and elegant, oriental shapes and colours.

Billowing silk, floral prints and cheongsam (Chinese style) shapes dominated the catwalk, while hair was inspired by the slick, androgynous finish of flapper styles.

A ballerina influence was evident, too, thanks to the popularity of Oscar-winning film Black Swan.

Smooth, twisted hairstyles featured on numerous catwalks, adding a gamine sophistication to decadent outfits.

Paola Fattorusso from the Rush Hair artistic team says: "Sleek, chic styles were prominent at lots of shows. Switching the detail to the back of the hair helps showcase catwalk garments beautifully."

"The style is ideal for clients looking for a creative up-style for a night out, as it's not overly groomed and can easily be recreated at home with a few tips from the stylist."

"It's best to work on hair that isn't freshly washed, and use plenty of Kirby grips for hold. Clients can try a simpler version at home by pulling their hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck. Make a hole above the elastic band, and pull the ponytail through to create the effect of two rolls."
