Clients who dare to be different will be enamoured with this season's more eclectic hair trends - perfect for those that like to stand out in a crowd.

Got some extensions left over from an event, shoot or client? Don't throw them away; make an accessory to adorn the hair. The team at the Vivienne Westwood Red Label show created a royal crown fit for a catwalk queen. Alternatively, create small bows à la Lady Gaga, or flowers and pretty shapes for your more conservative clients.

Creative colour

Bored with the mundane? Then opt for something a little bit more colourful. Models at the Yohji Yamamoto show in Paris wore heavy eye make-up and high-coloured tresses. The rainbow of shades was sprayed and sculptured into shape - not one for a trip to a Saturday supermarket.

Something new with extensions

If you're going to play with extensions, then have fun and create shape and colour. Charlie Le Mindu took inspiration from the past as he embraced his inner punk and sprayed hair into a sky-high Mohican. Give it an individual stamp by spraying on a symbol or signature.

Ear ear!

If your clients want an updo, but don't want a bun then offer them a Mickey Mouse-inspired look, as seen at the TopShop Unique show. Two tone 'ears' look cheeky and innocent and finishing with a bow gives it a girly touch. Black nose is optional!
