Fashion takes a trip back to the 70s this Summer, with many designers getting inspiration from New York's famous Studio 54 nightclub.

While the catwalks feature jewel-tone palazzo pants, maxi dresses and stack heel wedges, hair takes on a new texture, with a fluffy candyfloss look and dressed-out, Farrah Fawcett-inspired curls.

Fashion-forward celebrities like Nicola Roberts and Rihanna are early adopters of the trend, with flicked-out barrel curls and fluffed-out texture.

Efi Davies, Toni & Guy international artistic director and HJ's 2010 Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year, worked on the Giles show in London.

She comments: "This season, Giles saw a real 70s disco revival, with big, open curls with lots of movement and femininity. This is a great look to try for Spring/Summer, as it is very youthful and has an effortless feel, yet still maintains that glamorous edge."

"Clients can embrace the look by introducing more layers into their hair, and experimenting with large hot rollers or tongs. Inject some body and texture into the style with products like label.m Volume Mousse and Resurrection Style Dust."
